Dan Pucher – Insurance Broker For Emergency Medical Coverage For Visitors to Canada and Canadians Traveling Outside Canada

Do You Need Travel Medical Insurance?

You most certainly do! Your Government Health Plan will only provide limited coverage while you are travelling out of your home province. Travel medical insurance gives you excess emergency medical coverage.

Should you have a sudden illness or become injured while away, it could cost you thousands of dollars for medical care. Your Government Health Plan will not pay for most of this – you will have to! You could go broke.

You do not have to cope with this financial dilemma yourself when you travel. Additionally, you will not have to handle claim details in a strange country when you are sick or injured.

Travel medical insurance plans also provide some additional coverages which Government Health Plans do not. These include:
  • return of vehicle
  • dental accident
  • emergency air ambulance
  • family visitation
  • accidental death and dismemberment
  • return of deceased
Most of these additional coverages are included in a basic plan, but some are optional.
