Why do you need trip/cancellation/trip interruption insurance?
A vacation is one of your largest investments, after a house and a car. Could you afford to lose this investment if you could not travel?
Trip cancellation/trip interruption will provide coverage if you are forced to cancel your trip or cannot complete your trip.
One particular covered risk is involuntary job loss. Would you still be able to afford the vacation if you unexpectedly lost your job? You could think of trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance as job loss insurance.
Reimbursement of the prepaid portion of the trip that is non-refundable and non-transferable to another travel date for a covered event.
COVERAGE LIMIT
Maximum of $3,000.00 per insured per trip when purchased separately.
Maximum of $3,000.00 per insured per trip for the single trip all inclusive plan.
Maximum $5,000.00 per insured per trip and maximum $7,000.00 per policy for the multi-trip all inclusive plan.
ELIGIBILITY
You must be living in Canada or travelling through Canada. This insurance must be purchased
within seven days of booking your trip or before any cancellation penalties are chargeable for that trip
when purchased separately.
Highlights of some of the insured risks:
Unexpected medical emergency or death of insured (or insured’s travel companion)
Unexpected medical emergency or death of insured’s (or insured’s travel companion’s immediate family or key person)
Your business meeting is cancelled
Canadian Government issues a formal Travel Warning regarding your destination
Travel visa not issued
The person whose guest the insured will be during trip has a medical emergency and is admitted to a hospital or dies

This insurance will reimburse travel costs if your trip is cancelled prior to departure or if it is disrupted after your trip has begun.
COVERAGE LIMIT
You select the limit of coverage you need based on the amount that would
not be refunded if you did not travel. The maximum amount of coverage is $20,000.00 for trip cancellation and $25,000.00 for trip interruption.
ELIGIBILITY
You must be a permanent resident of Canada or a visitor to Canada who purchases trip cancellation/trip interruption after arrival in Canada for a trip anywhere in the world, as long as it originates in Canada.
